Porcelain Pie Bird

Clever Design Releases Steam to Prevent Boil Overs, Keeping Pie Crusts Crisp and Clean

Simply place this porcelain pie bird in the middle of the bottom layer of the crust, spread pie filling around it, and place the top crust over the pie bird. Cut a small hole in the middle of your top crust so the pie bird pokes through, crimp your crust, and bake until done. The bird is designed to release the steam while the pie bakes, eliminating boilovers and ensuring the crust stays crisp.
